The focus of this course is the study of health care occupations, and the professional and semi-professional status of health care workers such as physicians, nurses and others. Topics may include: the socialization of health care workers, struggles for professionalization, feminization of health care occupations, health care work performed outside of large organizations, and challenges to health care occupations' expertise and professional status. Prerequisite: 0.5 credits at the 200-level in OL.
